Korea Trip 2014 Part VI
Day 5:
N to the A to M, Namsan tower!
We woke up early, and took a train nearest to Namsan tower. After we alighted, we sort of trekked up this "mountain"? I'm not sure, but the road was tough and treacherous. The road was frozen and we were basically walking on ice. What's worse, is that none of us had proper shoes that is suitable for walking on ice, so we had to risk our lives. Actually it's not really like you know those professional climbers who climbs Mt. Everest whatsoever. There are proper roads to walk but it's still kind of dangerous if you have like kids or elderly with you. Anyway whatever it is, fret not, because we walked the wrong way. We thought that we had to actually trek up the "mountain", to the cable car but nope, the cable car was like at the foot of the "mountain", opps.
Then we waited for awhile before being able to board the cable car. I took a video on our way up, so just enjoy it and don't mind whatever you hear in that video!
Yay, so after cramming in the cable car, I finally reached Namsan tower!
I think going to the Namsan Tower, other than viewing the Namsan Tower and the scenery, there's basically nothing much else to see. So you will probably only spend like 45 mins there at most? Not including the time you take to reach the Namsan Tower!
Anyway, in my case, we had our lunch in the tower itself. The restaurant is called, N-Grill. It's like fine dining I suppose, but it doesn't require you to wear very formally. It's actually my first time having like such posh dining so I'm quite self conscious there. The food is great and so is the view! The restaurant is cool cause the floor basically rotates so you can see the view that surrounds the Namsan tower, 360 degrees!
After finishing our lunch, which was very very good. We headed for the free shuttle bus service that brings us to dongdaemun!
I bet most of you have heard about how dongdaemun has a few places that is a MUST-GO, one of it includes migliore.
On your way to migliore, you'll see the famous, Cheonggyecheon stream or river or whatever you call it! It looks exactly how it looks like in the picture, and I think if not for winter I would actually head down and get more photos of it. Another reason is also because there are a lot of people around so I just hurry took a picture and move to my next location.
My take on migliore is that, it has the feel of what we have here in Singapore which we call it the Bugis street. Except the fact that migliore is more organised and definitely less crowded than bugis street. It dedicates a storey to men, to women, to children, to shoes, to bags and many more, so it's easier to get your shopping done. However the thing that bothers you all the most would be the price. I must say, the price, unlike bugis street, it is more of the pricey side, however it is also probably because of the quality they have there. The clothes there have a certain quality, so I guess if you were to consider this fact then the price would probably sound reasonable for you.
After shopping around, you might want to visit the Dongdaemun design plaza, which is very near migilore. I didn't visit there cause it was getting late and cold, plus we were all hungry so we just decided to hurry grab some dinner and go back to our hotel. Well, if any of you reading my Korea blogposts, decides to head down over to Dongdaemun design plaza, then you might want to leave a comment and tell me how it is!
So this marks the end of Day 5! There probably isn't a lot of narrating in this post, but the amount of pictures is definitely sky high, so hopefully you guys can imagine whatever I've gone through for Day 5 better! Last post will definitely be coming up soon and it will then be an official goodbye to my Korea blog posts series!
